Dr Lee Steward Appointed Artistic Director
We are proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Lee Steward as our new permanent Artistic Director.
Lee took on the role of Interim Artistic Director to lead the organization earlier this year. His style, warmth, talent and virtuosity have brought a new level of musical awareness to our ensemble. We are excited as he now prepares us for the Fire and Light concert in May, and develops programming for a full Fall season.
Lee, an accomplished tenor and conductor with extensive experience in vocal performance and music education, brings a wealth of expertise to Accompany, having performed internationally and held significant roles in choral leadership. His vision for the choir emphasizes vocal health, musical diversity, and the joy of communal singing.
Along with this wonderful depth of experience, he brings a warm sense of humor, a calm presence, and a collaborative spirit that puts singers first.
Lee and his wife Jessica live in Oakland and have two artistic daughters, one majoring in voice at Walnut Hill School for the Arts in Boston and one majoring in Ballet at Indiana University.
