What is the fee for each concert?
Participants pay by session - a series of rehearsals leading up to a concert. We offer two sessions a year, fall and spring. The dues for the fall session are $575 for the Chorale and $575 for the Chamber Ensemble. These costs cover all professional fees, music, licensing, insurance, and charges for both rehearsal and performance venues. A $25 discount is available for members who sign up for both programs
Accompany is an inclusive and welcoming organization. A limited number of scholarships and discounts are available for anyone for whom the seasonal fee would be a hardship. Please contact info@accompanyus.org for more details
Do I need any experience to join?
None. We welcome anyone who would like to sing, whether they have previously been in a choir or not.
Will I need to audition?
There is no audition required to join our Main Chorale. We will work with singers individually to determine the voice section that suits them best. If you are interested in the smaller Chamber Ensemble, we will schedule a friendly audition for you.
When do I need to decide whether I can commit?
We ask singers to register for a session after they've tried things out at their first open rehearsal.
What styles of music will be performed?
From Renaissance to jazz and pop songs and newly composed music for the group, the repertoire is varied and carefully selected to give a beautiful musical experience, including songs in several languages, from different cultures, and musical traditions.
What format will concerts take?
Depending on the season, concerts may include choral music in 4+ parts, with some vocal solos as well as chamber choir music.
Do I have to participate in both sessions (fall and spring) or can I select the one that matches with my schedule and/or other commitments?
You are free to sign up for one or both sessions.
Can I stop and start the choir at any time?
Singers need to commit for a session at a time. If singers are unable to attend all rehearsals, we understand and encourage singers to let Julia D. know about any conflicts in advance. But remember that regular rehearsal is important for both ensembles to deliver a successful performance.
How can I get involved?
We would love to have you join us as we create and shape this community together. Leading a vocal section, signing up to bring snacks to a practice, and inviting your music curious friends along are just a few ways you can join in and support the organization.
